Not only did the Bulls come out and knock their opponent down. They kept applying pressure throughout in an attempt to leave them breathless. Milwaukee seemed to be overwhelmed against the lock down defense of the Bulls leaving them to fight from being blown out from the opening tip.
The Bulls came out with defense on their minds and Milwaukee didn’t stand a chance. That defense led to offense leading the Bulls to a 20 point advantage over the Bucks in the first quarter. Defense must have been the emphasis during the practices after the Pacers game. The Bucks didn’t know what hit them and when they finally caught a second wind they were down 30 points to the CHARGING BULLS!! Rose led the way scoring 24 points in 27 minutes leading the way for the starters all of whom scored in double figures.
From the outset the Bulls defense took control and the game seemed to be out of reach for the Bucks at halftime. If the Bulls are able to continue that defensive effort throughout the season against lesser opponents, starters should be able to have ice bags own their knees in fourth quarters.
Every starter scored in double figures led by Derrick’s 24 pts. on 6-10 shooting (2-5 on threes, 10-11 free-throws) 3 rebs and 4 assist in 27 mins.
Rookie E. Murphy still looks to be attempting to catch up to the speed of the NBA game contributing 3pts. on 1-8 shooting (1-4 on threes) 0 free-throws and 6 rebs. in 27 mins.
Noah continued to sit in order to give his groin injury time to heal If he plays before Tuesday in Miami I’d be surprised. J.Butler was out again resting his knee contusion and Kirk was out due to the concussion he suffered last game. Taj Gibson got the start over Nazi Mohammad.
