Derrick Rose Tweaks Ankle; Game Time Decision vs. Knicks

Well, Derrick came back in spectacular fashion this past Sunday… He was rusty, came alive in the second half, missed free throws down the stretch, had costly turnovers and failed to convert on the final possession in what would become an OT loss to the Knicks.

Now Derrick is in a walking boot and has admitted that he tweaked his ankle in the 2nd quarter. He stated that it was the reason he was walking the ball up court vs. running. I can’t believe he decided to still go against Shumpert with his ankle already throbbing in pain. I found out about this early this morning from @KCJHoop:

Very disheartening news. I think if we stop concentrating on best record in the league and getting the number one seed, then we can relax and just make sure everyone is ready for the post season.

In other news, Derrick Rose is set to become a dad. Rose’s girlfriend of 4 years, Mieka Blackman Reese (owner/founder of The Socialite Styling) will welcome a new baby. I’ve heard conflicting reports about when the baby is due. Some sources say October of this year, but others state that she is already 7.5 months along.

The Bulls clash with the Knicks will occur as the second half of an ESPN double header so it will be on later – 8:30PM CST.  The first game will be a good one between the Celts and the Miami Heat.

See you guys tonight… I’ll be in-game tweeting from @ChiTwnBullsBlog

That’s not Mieka in the above picture. That’s his ex-girlfriend.
