Well, last night’s win over the Nets was the best of times and the worst of times. Bulls jumped all over the Nets, ala the Bucks win on Saturday, but Derrick had to leave the game in the 2nd quarter wtih back spasms. Ugh. Just when we get Lu back, the team gets re-energized and it looks like the Bulls of old, D goes down. It couldn’t have come at a better time. Bulls play Hornets and Bobcats before concluding the road trip at Boston on Sunday.
- Lu continues to absolutely dominate. He’s doing it all. Getting deflections, passing the ball, burying threes, stroking the long two’s and slashing to the rack. All Star reserve? I think so… Let’s see who is announced on Thursday. They are supposed to announce on Thursday before the TNT games.
- CJ Watson played a team-high 39 pts in Derrick’s absence and was adept at leading the team. He’s been dropping in 3’s at a decent clip himself. He also added 11 assists as it seemed like the Bulls swung the ball around the floor all night.
- Boozer’s jumper was wet and his shots continued to splash, as they often do against sub .500 teams. Oh well, we need to beat those teams too. He’ll need to wind up that 18 footer for NOH and CHA… Jury’s out on his performance against Boston on Sunday.
- Derrick only scored 4pts in the 10 minutes he was in the game. I want him to skip both the Hornets and Bobcats game and return for the showdown with Boston. They are heating up and will want to exact some revenge on the Bulls for embarrassing them in the Garden earlier in the season.
The Hornets should be an easy win for the Bulls tonight. Its almost unfathomable that the Hornets have only won 4 games and have dropped 21. They are officially on Cleveland’s pace ala last season… We know Rip will be out indefinitely and hopefully Derrick will sit this one out to rehab his back. I’ll be in-game tweeting tonight and I’ll see everyone on Twitter. Go Bulls!
