Bulls Host Suns | D.Rose Out Again | Who’s Stepping Up?

News is breaking that Rip will start, but I’ll believe it when I see it. Plus, I’m not changing my graphic, we’ve got 30 minutes til’ opening tip… No such thing as reserves and third string. I’ve combined both in my graphic, its all hands on deck. I can’t think of a better game to get Jimmy Butler some meaningful minutes in. I’ve never seen a rook maximize garbage time the way he has.

Looking for contributions from whomever. Time to shine guys… Hopefully, the motivation will be to protect home court, where the Bulls are 5-0. I think, especially against the Suns, the Bulls will re-focus on defense. I’m thinking the Bulls should also shoot the ball better at the UC.

Point Guard Steve Nash Ronnie Price Sebastian Telfair
Shooting Guard Jared Dudley Shannon Brown Michael Redd
Small Forward Grant Hill Hakim Warrick Josh Childress
Power Forward Channing Frye Markieff Morris
Center Marcin Gortat Robin Lopez

The Phoenix Suns, always thought to be a dangerous, 3 pt. shooting team that can put the ball in the basket, has oddly struggled offensively this season. They are .327 from beyond the arc and .446 from 2 pt. range. Actually, the Chicago Bulls are also a “middle of the league pack” .446 from 2 so this matchup, from a stats perspective would already appear to be unwatchable. Without D.Rose running our offense, it might be unbearable. We’ll see.

Phoenix has been said to have gotten long in the tooth with Nash and Hill being 35+, however, I have come to expect closely contested games for the Bulls, no matter who we play. All teams “get up” to play the Bulls and even with Rose in the lineup, Chicago has historically played down to its competition level.

The game is airing on CSN at 7PM CST. I’ll be in-game tweeting from @ChiTwnBullsBlog.

See you there Bulls fans!
