Toronto Raptors at Bulls: Game Preview

Coming off the natural “high” that came with beating the Celtics last night, there is NO time to breathe or celebrate… Time to face another opponent who will surely play the Bulls hard… The Toronto Raptors.

I’ve only watched Toronto a few times (or should I say for a few plays) this season because honestly, during the “Free League Pass” season, there were just too many other teams that I wanted to catch more.

I don’t have a TON of insight for this one, but I do know that they are 4-8… Here is how their season has unraveled:

Andrea Bargnani has a strained calf so he will NOT play tonight. Toronto just announced like 23 minutes ago. He had been playing out of his mind (23 pts. 7 reb.) so that is good news for us. Demar DeRozan has had an up and down start to the season, so I look for him to try to get going early. I also expect the Bulls to get off to another good start. They have not started slowly  since the blowout Atlanta loss… This will be a chance to say “hi” to Rasual Butler (picked up by the Bulls last season and sorely underutilized), who now has a starting role with Toronto.

Point Guard Jose Calderon Anthony Carter Jerryd Bayless
Shooting Guard DeMar DeRozan Leandro Barbosa Gary Forbes
Small Forward Rasual Butler James Johnson
Power Forward Andrea Bargnani Ed Davis Linas Kleiza
Center Amir Johnson Jamaal Magloire Aaron Gray Solomon Alabi

I’ve heard that Rip will most likely sit this one out and might return late next week. He’s missed 7 games and I hope this groin meat is mending. I just don’t see how this does not remain a recurring problem since lateral movement and fast-paced running is required from this position. Thibs is also sounding like CJ is a lock to see some playing time in Memphis on Monday. We’ll see.

I’ll be in-game tweeting, but will also shamelessly be watching the Patriots/Broncos game, airing at the same time! So much going on!

Take care Bulls fans! A win tonight will take us to 12-2, a FIVE game winning streak and will land us on top of every NBA power ranking list in the nation!
